Les ânesses de la côte du puits is a farm where donkeys are bred organically, mainly from the endangered Cotentin donkey breed.
They give birth every 2 years, which allows the donkeys to be in great shape and to recover well.
From the time the foal is born until it is 3 months old, there is no milking. It is important that the foal has all its mother's milk and all her attention.
At 3 months, he gradually goes with his brothers and sisters to the paddock or the next stall for 4 hours so that I can milk by hand and, of course, always leave milk for the foal.
Milking takes place 4 times a week.
When they are 12 months old, the foals are gradually separated from their mothers, and go to Maya, who is the oldest member of the herd, to look after them.
Separating the foals at 12 months does not cause any stress for the mare and the foal, they are young adults ready to discover the world under Maya's gentle supervision.
