By Espace des Arts, Scène nationale Chalon-sur-Saône
From the light pantomimes of the Moulin Rouge to the Académie Goncourt. From journalism to setting up a beauty salon. From her scandalous affairs to her national funeral, Colette was a complex and modern figure. To create a back-and-forth between the lives of women past and present, the young artist Cléo Sénia, alone on stage, plays, sings, dances and uses the art of stripping to question and emancipate herself through the figure of Colette. This mirrored narrative opens the way for reflection on the current codes of feminism, nudity and freedom after more than a century of struggle. Have they changed or persisted?
