Two women, the virtuous Jeanne de Chantal and the famous Marquise de Sévigné, lived in this venerable château, one of the oldest in Burgundy and still inhabited since its construction in the 14th century. Charles de Franqueville redecorated the château during the Romantic period. The most remarkable rooms are the library with its Gothic wood panelling and the drawing room lit by a unique set of 9 Venetian crystal chandeliers. After the fire of 1952, the restored chapel remains an interesting testimony to our times. It houses the 'Paradisus', portraits of thirty owners painted by Edouard de Crépy. Under the shade of the beautiful park designed by Alphand and crossed by the Serein, you will discover the cascading pools.
