At the bend in the Armançon, the medieval town with its red roofs stands on a pink granite promontory. Once through the Sauvigny and Guillier gates, you will discover the charm of the cobbled streets lined with half-timbered houses, the elegance of the Gothic collegiate church, the power of the keep and the ramparts that climb the rock and the picturesque rue Chaude. The wash house on the Baudon quay has just been restored and is illuminated at night. Note also a boat wash, the last testimony of this small heritage in Burgundy, the path of Foulons. The town of Semur-en-Auxois received the 1st Regional Heritage Prize in 2005 for its ramparts.
